About Upwaltham Barns

Nestled in the hills of the South Downs between Petworth and Chichester, Upwaltham Barns is a unique rural barn wedding venue perfect for an informal country wedding. The barns have been traditionally restored using authentic local brick and flint, wood and stone, and provide a rustic backdrop for your civil ceremony and wedding reception.

Reception drinks may be taken in the pretty courtyard full of pots of colourful flowering plants and guests may relax at wooden tables under the shade of giant parasols. In summer the huge glass doors can be opened to let sunshine in and in winter there is under floor heating to make the venue warm and cosy. You may decorate the barns as you wish perhaps using foliage, flowers or fairy lights.

Overnight accommodation is provided for the honeymoon couple in Jasmine Cottage, which is furnished in a country style with a hint of Parisian chic! There is a beautiful bathroom with twin basins and a roll-top bath and a Juliet balcony from which the bride can throw her bouquet.

The owners are very helpful and supportive and provide an in-house florist service should it be needed. Just across the road in the middle of the field is a beautiful little medieval church where it may be possible to have a Service of Blessing.
