The family home of the Earl of Devon, this historic castle wedding venue was built between 1390 and 1420. Although extensively damaged during the Civil War, it has been systematically restored and rebuilt and is now a magnificent setting for a wedding reception.
The castle is surrounded by an ancient deer park and is set in beautiful gardens and grounds with views over the estuary of the River Exe.
Powderham Castle is licensed for Civil Weddings.
There are several beautiful rooms available including the Dining Room, the Ante Room, the First and Second Library (adjoining rooms), the magnificent Staircase Hall and the Music Room.
Up to 150 guests can dine in the Music Room. Smaller parties use the Dining Room or Libraries.
Larger parties may extend the facilities in the castle with a marquee in the grounds.
