About Harburn House

An unusal wedding venue, with a warm and inviting atmosphere. South West of Edinburgh, Harburn House offers the facilities of a hotel together with the privacy and flexibility of a privately-owned stately home.

This venue is peaceful and informal, yet stylishly elegant. The wedding couple have exclusive use, and are welcome to stay for the weekend! At Harburn House you may marry in the house, the garden, by the lake or on the romantic island, the choice is yours. However, most brides choose the beautiful 200 year old Horse Tread Mill (or Rondavel). This is a completely round building situated in the gardens of Haymains Lodge – another house on the Harburn estate as seen in the photographs. The Rondavel doubles up as a superb BBQ location at night.

Up to 35 guests can be seated in Harburn House for dining or up to 40 for a buffet. The Rondavel and the adjoining restored Barn can seat up to 70 guests. For larger weddings a marquee is suitable for up to 200 guests and is situated overlooking the dazzling water gardens which are floodlit at night.

The in-house catering is by one of Scotland’s best chefs. There is superb overnight accommodation at the venue, offering self-catering accommodation and en-suite rooms. Up 40 guests can be accommodated for a weekend, with a further 8 bedrooms in the immediate vicinity on the estate. A variety of leisure facilities can be enjoyed at the venue including golf, fishing, riding, tennis, off-road driving, treasure hunt and falconry.
