Combe Manor is set in one of the most idyllic locations in the country, at the foot of Walbury Hill. There can be few more tranquil, yet sensational settings for a wedding reception.
The Manor dates back to Edward the Confessor and is mentioned in the Domesday Book. The present owners have restored the barn and the gardens are peaceful and very beautiful.
The Barns are set in their own courtyard garden and seat a maximum of 200. They form an L-shape – an ideal arrangement is to use one half for dining and the other for dancing. Larger numbers can be accommodated for a canapés reception.
There is artistic lighting and, if required, a stage as the barns are often used for Opera and Musical Evenings with close neighbours Prunella Scales and Timothy West taking part.
The Location Fee includes round tables and gilt padded chairs for up to 100 guests, plus trestles, serving tables, wedding cake table, gas, electricity and use of kitchens.
A lovely bedroom with ensuite bathroom is available in the Manor House for the bride and groom to change and use during the day. Overnight accommodation for the bride and groom may be available at additional cost.
The owners request that amplified music ends at 10.45 pm and guests depart by midnight.
