Berkeley Castle is available for a wedding reception and offers a unique and historic venue for your special day. This historic castle wedding venue, begun in 1117, remains the private home of the Berkeley family who gave their name to numerous locations all over the world, notably Berkeley Square in London, and Berkeley University in California.
Although the castle is steeped in history, twenty-four generations of Berkeleys have gradually transformed a Norman fortress into the lovely home of today, with a warm and friendly atmosphere. The Great Hall can accommodate up to 128 guests seated and up to 150 for the evening function and dancing.
The gardens are available for reception drinks, or a marquee during the summer months. For winter weddings, a fire may be lit in the Great Hall. In summer, the terraced gardens planted for scent as well as for beauty and with views over rolling countryside are available for reception drinks, with a marquee on the upper gun terrace that can be opened up completely in hot weather.
