Michael proposed to me. We had put up the Christmas Tree and we had just finished having dinner and he asked me. He then told me I had to find my ring (which he had hidden in the tree).
The Bride – It was a fish tail dress with funky lace on the top, it was fitted around my waist in a dark cream colour – my mother made it. With the main theme of the wedding being red, I had Christian Louboutins shoes with a red sole (the most expensive pair of shoes I well ever and have ever owned!). I also wore a back necklace by Stephanie Brown, an Australian designer.
The Groom and Groomsmen – They wore navy suits, ox blood shoes and red ties.
The Bridesmaids – The bridesmaids wore a red dress by Karen Millen and navy shoes by Kurt Geiger
We wanted a winter wedding and wanted somewhere where it was really contained and you didn’t have to go outside if the weather was bad. Dodmoor House was perfect as it worked no matter the weather. We loved the feel of it and it really suited our style – down to earth and uncomplicated. The date was perfect and memorable and the services offered were really flexible.
Room Decorations – The venue was mainly decorated with candles and lights (we only had a mistletoe ball in the main barn for flowers). We used a football team for the tables as both Michael and I support read teams (Arsenal for me and Nottingham Forest for Michael). The tables were the following: Top Table – Wembley Stadium. My Family – The Emirates. His Family – The City Ground and the Mezzazine was the Millennium Stadium was my bridesmaid is Welsh and she was sitting there.
Table Centrepieces – These were candles in red vases
Favours – We used lottery tickets which were in envelopes which meant we could double them up as place names.
Our cake was two red football shirts, which had the name Glynn and the number 12 on it – as we were marred on 12/12/2008.
I got ready at the venue but Michael arrived with his family on a canal boat.
To make sure that you get things done early on so you’re not rushing at the last minute.
