We worked together, stayed friends and things developed from there!
Alex proposed to Kate on New Years Eve 2004, under a willow tree in St James’ Park, with fireworks going off around us – it was a very romantic surprise!
The Bride – My dress was diamond white, strapless with a lace up back. Full skirt (needing a hoop) and long train. There was a beaded detail on the dress – I loved my dress!
The Bridesmaids – They wore dark red sparkly satin dresses.
The Groom and Groomsmen – Wore traditional suits with dark red cravats.
Ceremony – We got married in Britford Church. It is a beautiful church in a lovely setting – felt really special.
Reception – Didn’t like any of the hotels in the Salisbury area and wanted something different. Trafalgar Park was recommended by a friend.
We loved the venue as soon as we saw it – liked all the individual rooms, stunning gardens – it was just right!
Room decorations – Flowers and candles in candelabras.
Table centrepieces – Candelabras with red candles and sweet peas.
Favours – Wiltshire Corn Love Knots.
A square chocolate cake with chocolate curls and a glass centrepiece filled with chocolates.
Austin cars of some sort!
Don’t get caught up with all the material things, remember why you are getting married in the first place.
