Katherine’s Story

The Proposal

He proposed to me at Barnsley House in the Cotswolds. We went for an evening stroll in the gardens after a fabulous dinner and when we stopped for a rest he went down on one knee. It was a complete surprise!

The Outfits

The Bride – I wore an Ivory Silk Caroline Castigliano, princess cut wedding dress with crystal detail and a baby pink sash.

The Bridesmaids – My 3 bridesmaids wore calf length baby pink dresses, each with an ivory ribbon.

The Groom and Groomsmen – Black Tails minus the top hat with ivory waistcoats and pink ties.

The Ceremony and Reception Venues

The Barn at Bury Court was definitely the perfect venue for our marriage ceremony and wedding reception. We fell in love with it straight away as it was exactly what we were looking for – pretty, romantic and modern.

The Decorative Touches

The venue was like a blank canvas which was fantastic. We decorated the tables with rose filled goldfish bowls and used fairy lights and topiary trees with pink roses to decorate the venue itself.

The Cake

A 3-tier chocolate cake covered in white icing. The middle tier was baby pink and decorated with roses.

The Transport

I got ready at the venue and travelled in a normal car to the venue. The Groom hired a white E Type Jag with pink ribbons. The guests arrived in old 1950’s buses.

Advice to other couples

“If you want something, HAVE IT, you will only regret it if you don’t!”
