Our Story

The Proposal

Lee proposed to Gemma last Christmas Eve by hanging her engagement ring in the Christmas tree and waiting for her to notice. It didn’t take long!

The Outfits

The Bride – Full length, sweetheart neckline, ivory covered in an apron of lace with diamante.

The Bridesmaids – A deep purple full length dress with a twinkle A-line band. Diamante hair accessories.

The Groom and Groomsmen – Two pageboys aged 18 months and 11 months wore tails and lilac waistcoats. The ushers wore traditional black tails with pin stripe trousers and lilac waistcoats.

The Wedding and Reception Venues

Ceremony – Kinver Church is a pretty local church and our family has known the vicar for years. The Church had a ‘festival of lanterns’ the weekend we were married, which was beautifully lit.

Reception – We were looking for something different and were going to have a marquee at home. However, when we found The Curradine Barns,
we were sold! The natural wooden beams, stone floors and glittering lights created a tranquil atmosphere.

The Decorative Touches

Table centrepieces – Tall arrangements of Vanda Orchids and silver grass with diamante attached to the leaf ends.

Favours – We had chocolates wrapped in silver with the bride and groom’s name and date of the wedding.

The Cake

5 Tier white iced cake decorated with diamante on alternate layers and ribbons and silver snowflake brooches on the other two layers.

The Transport

Bridesmaids arrived in a Bentley Limo. Wedding guests arrived in a Routemaster London Bus hired for the day. Bride arrived in vintage Bentley.

Advice to other couples

Organisation is the key. Know what you want and be able to communicate it.
