Emma and Bradley’s Story

The Proposal

Brad proposed on Christmas day in our home town of Gloucester at Gloucester docks in front of the huge Christmas tree.

The Outfits

The Bride – My dress was Champagne colour with a strapless basque flowing out at the bottom. I also had a tiara, veil and necklace.

The Bridesmaids – The bridesmaids had burnt orange strapless knee length dresses.

The Groom and Groomsmen – They wore rented suits with cream waistcoats.

The Wedding and Reception Venue

Viewed online through the Country House Wedding Venues website, then we went to an went to an open day – we liked the fact that it was private as well as being a truly beautiful venue on it’s own without adding any decoration.

The Decorative Touches

Room Decorations – We wanted to keep things minimalist so we decorated simply with cream linen, with no added decoration.

Table Centrepieces – Centrepieces were made by my Mum in large cocktail vases with a natural looking arrangement containing cream roses, foliage and brown reeds.

Favours – Love bean favours in small pretty pots the guests grow them at home.

The Cake

The cake had parcels stacked on top of each other with different flavours for each parcel, where were then wrapped in gold ribbon.

The Transport

I got ready at the venue so I drove, but Bradley and the remainder of the Groomsmen arrived in a limousine.

Advice to other couples

It’s very easy to get caught up with the plans as you go along, so remember to keep focused on the type of day you want to have.

The best part of the day

The photos after the ceremony, the photographer made us feel really relaxed and allowed us to spend time together and have fun as a couple.
