Couples who want to cut the cost of the wedding but still have a day to remember should consider enlisting the help of friends and family when it comes to making arrangements.
This is according to wedding website owner Nicola Ray, who told the Mirror that pulling together to make arrangements "creates a fantastic camaraderie" and could get things done for a fraction of the cost.
She advises that couples play to the strengths of their relatives, as most people have a few hidden talents that could be useful.
On her big day, Ms Ray asked friends to drive the car she borrowed for the occasion and they helped with photography, flowers and hair and makeup.
"Whatever you ask them to do - cook a dish for the buffet or make decorations, for instance, they'll feel honoured to have been asked," she said.
One person who will not have to budget for his big day is Nigel Page, as he recently became the UK's biggest-ever lottery winner and plans to use some of his money to tie the knot.
