One bride-to-be has described how she is planning to cut the cost of her wedding and embarrassing her future husband using a
wedding cake is one of her solutions.
Writing for the Advocate, April Brandon explained that instead of an extravagant cake "sculpted to look like the Millennium Falcon", she and her partner will be serving up two smaller desserts.
However, to make them special for the occasion, they will feature photographs of the bride and groom.
Ms Brandon said that "those photos will be of him a 1980s mullet and me with bangs so big they could have their own zip code".
She added that for her, all that matters is that everyone has a good time and remembers that "the bride couldn't stop smiling".
Barbara Halepaska, owner of Halepaska's Bakery, recently told the same publication that couples are increasingly choosing cakes that better represent their personality or
wedding venue.
