As social networking sites such as Facebook and MySpace continue to grow in popularity, increasing numbers of people are sending invitations to parties and events electronically.

However, when it comes to weddings, one expert claims that it is essential to send written invites.

In an article posted on Release-News, Noah Jones states that although sending a message on Facebook will save time and money, it is more important for people to be formally invited with a note.

He says that if couples want to ensure that all of their friends and family attend, "they will tell you how important it is for them to receive a wedding card".

Mr Jones also points out that this does not have to be as expensive as many people think and cheap wedding invitations can be affordable "while offering good quality at the same time".

Research conducted by P J Hayman recently revealed that many couples are underestimating the cost of their honeymoons.
