Winter weddings, which were popular in Victorian times, are making a comeback.
This is according to findmypast.co.uk, which discovered that during the 19th century, the most popular months for couples to walk down the aisle were October, November and December.

Confetti reports that since 2007, there has been a 200 per cent rise in the number of couples saying "I do" on a chillier day.
Debra Chatfield, marketing manager at findmypast.co.uk, said: "Marriage certificates are invaluable records for family historians looking to discover not only who, but where and when their ancestors married."
One couple who seem to be keen to tie the knot in the snow are Sophie Dahl and Jamie Cullum, as they are reportedly planning their big day for the beginning of next year.
