One couple who recently had to change their wedding plans because of snowy weather claim their day was better than the one they originally planned.
Maggie Wunderlich and Daniel Keck, who married at St Mary's Catholic Church in Hagerstown, US, both enjoy winter sports and so decided on a festive wedding.
However, when they big day arrived, their
photographer and the restaurant they booked for the reception both cancelled because of adverse weather, the Herald-Mail reports.
Luckily, Maggie's family used food they had purchased for a New Year party to feed hungry guests and the bride and groom got to play in the snow in their
wedding outfits.
"It was really, really fun," said Maggie's mother Irene Wunderlich. "It's one of those times when we thought, 'Wow, this is better than if we had done it according to the original plan.'"
One couple who recently avoided winter wedding disaster were Karen Rawlins and Jonathan Lee, as they were able to rely on the help of local people to drive them to the church in 4x4 cars when the road was blocked by snow.
