More couples 'holding DIY weddings'

More couples 'holding DIY weddings' Shane McMurray, who runs statistics website The Wedding Report, has spoken about some of the top trends for tying the knot this year.

Speaking to the Arizona Daily Star, he claims that one of the biggest trends he has seen is for DIY weddings, as people try and save money by doing things themselves.

Paloma Rodarte, who runs Frostings Event Designs and Rentals, agrees, saying that many brides are now making their own centrepieces and favours.

"And then they spend more of their money on the catering and the decor part, but as far as the little details, we have seen that they do more favours and invitations, those smaller details," she explained.

Mr McMurray also believes that increasing numbers of couples are waiting longer to tie the knot.

The Cody Enterprise recently advised couples that it may be cheaper and easier for them to rent decorations and supplies for their nuptials.
