
It may be easier than many people think to go green on their big day and the place to start could be with their food.
This is according to the Knot, which states that the availability of organic produce means that more often than not, caterers are happy to accommodate requests for a more environmentally-conscious menu.
Choosing greener fare does not have to create extra work for those preparing the food and it could actually end up being more cost-effective, the news provider continues.
Newlyweds may like to serve their guests a fresh green salad made with organic leaves, or a free range chicken with organic string beans as a main course.
Plus, going green does not have to stop at the food.
"Many winemakers and spirits producers are venturing into organic beverage options, so you should ask your caterer about adding organic tequilas and vodkas or even biodynamic wines to your bar menu," the Knot states.
