One couple should have no problem getting breakfast ready in the morning after they received no less than 24 toasters from their wedding guests.
Claire and Stuart Linley had requested that the 160 people that attended their celebration gave cash or vouchers towards a honeymoon.
Therefore they were surprised when they received a pile of gifts all in a similarly shaped box.
It turned out that the amazing coincidence was a joke devised on Mr Linley's stag do.
"The boys were asking me what I wanted as a wedding present and I said either money or vouchers because I didn't want to end up with a million toasters," the 21-year-old auto electrician said.
The happy couple returned 23 of the toasters - many of which were from Tesco and decided to keep one.
At the end of last month, research conducted by LV= revealed that 25 per cent of Brits do not think they will be able to spend as much on wedding gifts for their loved ones this year because of the recession.
