The Christian Science Monitor reports that more and more couples are finding ways to bring a little eco-chic to their big day and help the environment.

To do this, the news provider states that some people are donating their left-over reception food to homeless shelters, while other are asking guests to make a donation to charity instead of purchasing gifts.

Another popular idea is to plant trees in honour of their friends and family instead of giving wedding favours.
